1 - 33.5" Uptight rail system
2 - Sheet metal screw
2 - Washer
1 - Drill guide bushing
12 - Clip-on nut

1. Using a pocket knife (or small screwdriver) pry out and remove all plastic fasteners from the top of the bed side. Only two will be re-used.

2. Set the Up-Tite rails on the bed sides and install a bolt into the front-most hole of the rail and into the front-most hole on the bed side.

3. Install a second bolt into the second from the last hole of the rail. The rail is now in the proper position.

4. Using the supplied drill guide bushing, drill the four center holes using a 1/4 inch drill bit.

5. Remove the Up-Tite rail and two screws and deburr holes and clean up the metal chips.

6. Gently pull the plastic bed side away from the steel bed and install six clip-on nuts on each side.

7. Put the plastic bed side back in place.

8. Set the Up-Tite rail back on the bed side and using an awl line up the clip-on nuts with holes.

9. Start all six bolts and then tighten securely.

10. Re-install two plastic fasteners on each side in the two open holes.

The last hole in the Up-Tite rail does not attach to the steel bed. Sheet metal screws and washers are supplied for this spot. Drill a 1/8 inch pilot hole in the plastic and insert this screw. This screw is mainly for aesthetic purposes, however, if the Up-Tite slides are installed first, a washer placed under the head of this screw will prevent the slides from backing out and being damaged or lost.

Kits are available for the John Deere Gator, Kawasaki Mule, Kubota and others.
